About Me

I am an "enseignant-chercheur" (Assistant Professor, Reader) at the Physics Department at The University of Western Brittany.

I am also a member of the mathematics laboratory, Laboratoire de Mathématiques Bretagne Atlantique. I have three (mostly unrelated) areas of interest: (1) ocean dynamics and climate, (2) fundamental physics and general relativity, (3) biophysics and diseases of ageing.

News

  • [Jun. 2025] Camille Devallez started her internship on protein physics, working with me and statistician Jean-Marc Derrien for our collaboration with biophysicist Andreas Barth.
  • [Jun. 2025] Our paper was published at Physical Review Fluids! Lead author is Ph.D. student Avik Mondal, working with my long-time collaborator, Brian Arbic.
  • [April 2025] Our grant was awarded! I received substantial computing resources on the super computers at Cines and TGCC via GENCI to continue our molecular dynamics simulations for the preliminary work on Amyloid Beta protein, that I started with biophysicist Andreas Barth in 2022.

Research Projects

  • Interpreting Surface Plasmon Resonace (SRP) data: For my collaboration with experimental chemists Antony Memboeuf and Giuseppe Grasso. Here is a tool to calculate the refractive index of light and heavy water.
  • Alzheimer's Disease Using the super computers at Cines and TGCC via GENCI to continue our molecular dynamics simulations for the preliminary work on Amyloid Beta protein, that I started with biophysicist Andreas Barth in 2022.
